「性悪」

この短編小説の中のひとつ「過程の医学」をテーマに制作した作品。 人間の健康状態を色で表示できる眼鏡を発明した研究者が、赤ちゃんを見た時のみ「絶望」を表す黒で表示されている事に気づくという内容だが、私は「人は絶望から始まるが、世界を知る事でそこから開放される」という解釈をした。そのため、この作品は釉薬を使わずに炭化焼成を行い、朝焼けのようなグラデーションを施すことによってその解釈を表現した。

This work was created based on the short story Medicine in Process. The story revolves around a researcher who invents a pair of glasses capable of displaying human health in colors. The researcher realizes that when he looks at a baby, the glasses show black, representing "despair." I interpreted this as "people begin in despair, but by learning about the world, they are freed from it." For this reason, I chose to express this interpretation by carbonizing the piece without using glaze and applying a gradation resembling the glow of a morning sky.
