〈窓ぎわのトットちゃん〉

物語の中で特に印象的な一場面から作品を制作した。トットちゃんが、小児麻痺を持つ男の子泰明ちゃんを自分の木に招待する場面だ。身体を自由に動かすことが困難な泰明ちゃんにとって木登りはとても大変なことだったが、二人でなんとか木に登ることができた。その場面の木を抽象化して、トットちゃんの優しさと泰明ちゃんの強さをイメージして制作した。

I created this work based on a particularly striking scene in the story. It is the scene where Totto-chan invites Yasuaki, a boy with pediatric paralysis, to her tree. For Yasuki-chan, who has difficulty moving his body freely, climbing a tree was very difficult, but the two of them managed to climb the tree together. I abstracted the tree in that scene and created the image of Totto-chan's gentleness and Yasuaki's strength.
