「狭き門」

『狭き門』は神聖な愛の経験を描写している。高度的理想化された愛が現実に移ろうとき、恐怖や疑念を伴う。たとえ心を互いに確認した恋人としても、独立した魂としての相手から、距離感が生じることがある。それで、「狭き門」は愛の対象を受け入れなく、愛する主体だけを収容するという愛の一人芝居の意味であると思う。「自分自身しか見えない」理想の愛を表すため、私は脆い釉薬が高温での収縮により自然と隙間を作った。

The Narrow Gate depicts the experience of sacred love. When highly idealized love transitions into reality, it is accompanied by fear and doubt. Even when lovers have mutually confirmed their hearts, a sense of distance can emerge from the other as an independent soul. Therefore, I believe that "The Narrow Gate" represents a monologue of love that does not accept the object of love but instead accommodates only the subject of love. To express an ideal love that "sees only itself," I intentionally allowed gaps to form in the brittle glaze through shrinkage at high temperatures.
