〈孤独なバッタが群れるとき『バッタを倒しにアフリカへ』エピソード1〉

モーリタニアの砂漠の風景、バッタ研究所の生活、ババ所長の笑顔などに想いを馳せながら、シリーズの一貫した主役であるサバクトビバッタをデフォルメして埴輪にした。焼き締めの質感と酸化鉄由来の黒色は、本物同様サハラ砂漠の風景によく馴染む事間違いなしだ。

I thought of the desert landscape of Mauritania, the life of the Grasshopper Research Institute, and the smile of Director Baba. The grasshopper, the main character, is deformed and made into a Haniwa (clay figurine). I am convinced that the texture of the earthenware and the black color of the oxidized firing will fit in well with the landscape of the Sahara Desert.
