- 「メロスの酒器」
- 学生時代、国語の授業で誰もが読んだことのある名作「走れメロス」を題材に制作した。作品はキュリクスという酒器である。このキュリクスは主にワイン用の酒器で、祝宴の場面でよく使われていたという。メロスの妹の結婚式や親友セリヌンティウスを救出した後のシーンでは、このような酒器が使われ、祝宴が行われていたのではないかと考え作品を制作した。
- The subject of this work is “Run Meros,” a masterpiece that everyone has read in Japanese class when they were students. The work is a drinking vessel called a kylix. The kylix was a drinking vessel mainly used for wine, and was often used in festive occasions. I created this work based on the idea that such drinking vessels might have been used in the scenes after the wedding of Melos' sister and the rescue of his best friend, Selinuntius, where a feast was held.
