This is Kuniko Mukoda’s final collection of essays. She discusses food, alcohol, and cooking, vividly painting scenes around the act of eating. It’s hard to tell whether I’m reading or imagining these scenes first. In Ms. Mukoda’s trademark witty and charming style, there’s a sensitivity that observes even the most ordinary, everyday moments. I designed "My Box" as a vessel for storing special snacks and treats. I imagined it holding the various foods mentioned in her essays.
