- 私が今回選んだ『残像に口紅を』は、日本語の50音が一音ずつ消えていき、加えてその音が含まれている言葉は音と一緒に小説の世界から存在ごと消えるという特殊なルールのもとに書かれた実験的な小説だ。この小説に必要な「言葉」という要素を削りながら新しい表現方法を確立するアプローチを自分の造形から手数を削り、魅力ある自然な表情を残した原土の塊に近づけるという形で踏襲し今回作品を制作した。
- The novel I chose this time, Lipstick on the Afterimage, is an experimental work written under the unique rule that each syllable of the Japanese 50-sound syllabary disappears one by one. Additionally, any word containing that syllable vanishes from the world of the novel along with the sound itself. In this process, the essential element of "language" is gradually eliminated, and a new form of expression emerges. For my work, I approached this by simplifying the techniques in my own sculpture, aiming to retain the natural, captivating expression in the raw mass of clay, similar to the way the novel strips away words while establishing a new form of creative expression.
