〈西の魔女が死んだ〉

「居場所」

「西の魔女が死んだ」は、学校に居場所を無くした主人公のまいが、祖母の家で魔女修業をする話だ。まいが1番好きな場所を見つけ、自分の畑に決めるシーンが印象的だった。私の作品では、この描写を元に、畑が成長した姿を表現している。切り株に腰掛けてみたくなるような作品を目指した。

The Witch of the West is Dead is a story about Mai, the main character, who has lost her place at school and trains as a witch at her grandmother's house. The scene in which Mai finds the place she loves the most and decides on her own field was particularly striking. In my work, I have expressed this description by depicting the field in its grown form. I aimed to create a piece that makes one feel like sitting on the stump.
